Child Rehabilitation Centre's mission is to protect the rights of children and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the Sri Lanka. We strive to give children the opportunity to develop into strong, secure and responsible human beings.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CHILD REHABILITATION CENTRE

Specific Objective:

To create a better world where conflict affected, poverty stricken, marginalized, vulnerable, deprived and neglected children can enjoy equal opportunities and enjoy access to excellent education, good health & protection.



Along with our Specific Objectives we have our General Objectives which are:

To provide humanitarian assistance in all forms to the oppressed classes, refugees, the impoverished, those who are incapacitated and the elderly of all communities.

To improve the socio—economic conditions of the rural communities by encouraging and providing assistance, in agricultural, fisheries, small scale enterprises and cottage industrial activities with participatory methodology such as advice, research and training, on low-cost water supply and sanitation, new technologies and how to improve productivity.

To improve the social conditions of the backward and war affected communities at grass root levels, by creating awareness through health education, gender equality, child protection and human rights.

To organize women’s groups in order to increase their leadership qualities and involve them in socio-economic development thereby empowering their status and thus increasing the productivity of the country.

To organize programs to educate and train the rural community to protect their environment.

To take all necessary steps to foster and maintain peace, understanding and co-existence among the divergent community groups and lay the foundation for a secure peaceful Sri Lanka.

To support by means of training and building up the capabilities of the educated unemployed youth with self-employment opportunities and business ventures.

To elicit the help of Government Organizations and Institutions, Funding agencies and Donors, Foreign Embassies and High commissions who are looking for ways to help, support and implement Rehabilitation and Reconstruction programs in rural areas of the country where minima aid or help is received.

Child rehabilitation Centre was established with the sole objective of make a protective environment for children without any kind of discrimination. In doing so CRC has made its efforts towards ensuring equal opportunities in education, health and social security for children. Our belief is that every child should enter adulthood in a positive and supportive environment.

The CRC is comprised of community leaders, farmers and workmen, urban and rural organizations and many other supportive individuals. Our operations are carried out directly and through the said community groups in order to fulfill our objectives in benefiting the children and their families who are marginalized or neglected. At present we have 50 community based organizations that are growing at a commendable speed.

At the beginning we launched our operations in 20 divisional secretariats in Ampara district and with your generous contributions towards this worthy cause we are hoping to expand our charitable services to the entire Eastern Province of Sri Lanka which includes Trincomalee and Batticaloa Districts.
